Business ideas and tools for the enterprising newbie who wants to work at home. Everything you need to know about getting started on the road to success.

Fill in your reason(s) for wanting to start a home business:
I want to start a home business because ____________________________________________

Of course, everything has pros and cons, and before you start a home business, you should be realistic. Even though the average home business earns $50,000 a year compared with the average worker's salary of about $26,000 a year, a home business will probably take at least two years to show a profit. Financial experts say ideally you should have savings that will cover at least six months to two years of household and projected business expenses if you decide to start your business full-time. Alternatives are to start a business part-time until your profits are substantial enough for you to "QUIT YOUR DAY JOB" or to rely temporarily on the financial support of a partner.

Choosing a Home Business:  In choosing the best home business for yourself, here are four considerations that may help you narrow the list.

1. Self-Evaluation:
What are your work skills? What have your experiences been? What is your education? What are your hobbies?
Answer these questions:
I really (do or do not) ________like working with ___________________.
I hate doing work that is (indoors or outdoors)___________________.
I like (active or sedentary) __________________ activities in my work.
I am a self-starter and have the discipline to tend to the tasks of my own business's daily demands.(Yes or No)
I realistically estimate I will be able to spend __________ hours a week on my new business.
In ___(number) ________ (months, years) I hope to have my business in full operation.

2. Now list the business's that fit your abilities, interests, lifestyle, and family:
To find home business that match your personality, do a search on work at home business.
(ex; health and wellness, data entry, even affiliate marketing)

______________________________________________________

3. Narrow the list to the best three business, and write who you think the best potential customers of each would be.
Business One; ______________________________________________________
Business Two; ______________________________________________________
Business Three; _____________________________________________________

4. For each business you are considering thoroughly research it.
How long have they been in business? Do they offer support and help? Is there training?
Know who your sponsor is and do they offer help and a way for you to contact them?
Do they offer business tools for free or do you have to supply your own? (This could be costly)

Getting Started: You have now selected business's that match your requirements.
What do you do now? You invested your time and most likely created an expense. You need a plan of action and tools to make your investment payoff. (Use the link on the left to get more info on preparing your business plan.)

Who Can You Turn To For Help:  As a home-based business owner, you will sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the jobs you have to do. The truth is, though, you cannot do everything. You will need a marketing company that can automate most of your work for you. Advising you about methods used and how they will work for you, thus, giving you more time to prospect and build your business presents while building your business.
(Use the link on the left for marketing tools, LGT has a stepping stone program for beginners to expert business owners, with live training and real support.)

The Internet and Your Home-Based Business:
How can the internet help your business?  It can reach world-wide customers and markets, advertise your business, cut your mailing costs, give you networking opportunities via e-mail, do research, plan travel, allow you to join a trade association and much more.
But, you need a website! Can a website help your home business? Yes! Definitely!
(More information on websites on the left)

Some additional reasons an internet site can benefit your home business:

* It can display and advertise your products and services 24 hours a day. You maintain it and keep it current with little or no expense. Place your contact information on it for easy ordering.

* It can "personalize" you and your business if you provide your visitors with a history of your business, your philosophy, and daily tips that your visitors can use.

* You can provide links to other helpful sites (vice versa) for your customers.

*  It can help to improve customer service and enhance customer loyalty.

*  Having a website can allow you to compete with much larger competitors - you are the same size in the eyes of the customer. :*)

Introduction:

My name is Crystal Spring, I am a home business owner, Wife and Mother
(grand-mother too). Our new home is equipped with an office. But, I did not always have that luxury. I started out in my kitchen taking up the table and counter space that is intended for family time and meals. At time's, it was
very distracting and noisy. As my family started to come in from the days routine that was the worst. You see, I am a mentor, trainer, & support assistant for LGT. We use a conference room for training, I would have to excuse myself because the noise was awful. I now run a successful affiliate program, membership site, and publish eBooks. I have enjoyed my online experiences and will continue to do so.

P.S. My family is happy also!

I have been where you are. This site is going to help you get thru it, with the resources and guide lines to make it a Win Win sitituation for you and your family. There is also a Blog that you can post comments to. I am here to help and create friendships as well.

Please enjoy the pages I have put together for you and do not give up.

Failure is not an option when there is help out here!
